Journey Home [$2.00]

Journey Home [$2.00]: by @CritSuccess_

It seems like just yesterday that you were home, in the “real” world, or at least that’s what you thought of it as at the time. And maybe it really was just yesterday that you were there, but at this very moment, that place is an immeasurable distance from you, or at least you assume it is. Somehow, you have been whisked away to a world that you could only imagine; one that you never would have believed to really exist. In your wildest daydreams, maybe you wished to be in an exotic and magical fantasy world where nothing was as it seemed, and all manner of fantastical beasts and peoples thrived, but now that you are here, you can fixate your mind on only one goal: finding your way back home. Though you are focused on finding your way home, you realize just how surreal this experience is and want to remember it forever, so you have taken to journaling. You keep with you a small journal, in which you make notes of the events that have transpired and the discoveries you’ve made in this unfamiliar world.
In order to download this Solo TTRPG you must purchase it at or above the minimum price of $2 USD. You will get access to the following files:

Dream Manor [Free]

Dream Manor [Free]: by @TheMostMagiCole

A game based off various reality TV shows where contestants seek to further their dreams by living with complete strangers! This adds elements from a handful of shows and games, such as Good Society, WWWRPG, Apocalypse World, Reality TV, Terrace House**, and The Challenge.

In this game you will each create a character and a project clock! You will work together, take care of the house, form relationships, and work towards your own personal goals!

There are opportunities to make it big, to get into fights, and to rotate house members in and out! Aside tokens allow characters to talk to the audience without the other members listening in.

The players also get an opportunity to  comment on the members of the house or on scenes they really liked. They may also set challenges for the characters to complete.

(**As many fans of Terrace know, a toxic environment of cyber-harassment contributed to a former contestant, Hana Kimura, taking her life. Bullying and harassment are never acceptable and have no place in this game! Please donate to suicide hotlines, if you are able.)

THIS EMAIL IS CURSED [$1.99]: by @oh_theogony

by Banana Chan & Lucian Kahn

We’ve all received those sketchy chain emails commanding us to forward them to our friends or incur a grisly demise – so here’s a funny little game about them!

You will play as a character who has received a horrible email containing a “very serious” and very deadly curse! The only way you can break the curse is by forwarding the email to some number of people between 2 and a zillion. This is a creative writing game with light storytelling elements, where players will be spreading curses through email and postcards. It draws inspiration from actual chain emails and surrealist games such as Exquisite Corpse.

Like real chain letters, this game spreads exponentially. Your real-life reward/punishment for sending the email chain forward will be receiving a gazillion BCCs of your cursed email as its contents change and grow over time. (If you ever get sick of receiving these curses, just block its weird subject line in your email settings!)

If you choose to participate in the postcard section of the game, you will probably also receive between 1 and infinity postcards of Halloweeny drawings in the physical mail addressed to your character...eventually.

The tone of this game is silly, despite the mention of curses.

Players: Between 3 and infinity, but you don’t all play at the same time

Time: About 30 minutes to an hour, then 15-30 minutes a month later

Content warnings: Curses, demons, spooky stuff, dying from a cursed email

Included files: The full game instructions are in This-Email-Is-Cursed.pdf. To make it easier for you to copy/paste the cursed email template into your browser or email app, we have also included a plaintext version in CursedEmailTemplateCopyPaste.txt.

Happy cursing!!!
In order to download this game you must purchase it at or above the minimum price of $1.99 USD. You will get access to the following files:

CLOSEQUARTES is an Indie Tabletop Role Playing Game (TTRPG) that takes heavy inspiration from Japanese Role Playing Games (JRPG).

CLOSEQUARTES strives to bring people who normally feel uncomfortable around others to come together and enjoy the experiences that others can give you!

What makes CLOSEQUARTERS Unique?

Aside from the heavy inspiration of mechanics and themes from JRPGs, CLOSEQUARTERS strives to provide an experience that doesn't constrain the imagination from the ones playing it. While most other TTRPGs constrain or limit a Player on what they can do, CLOSEQUARTERS aims to provide the tools needed to create a one of a kind experience each time you play!

"How is this Achieved?"

From Jobs to Types

In most TTRPGs, a job or class system is used in order to determine the capabilities or role of a character within the campaign. While not always the case, these jobs would more often than not limit the capabilities of a character- both mechanically and in the context of roleplay.

CLOSEQUARTERS fixes this issue by removing jobs entirely: replacing it the Type system in its stead! Types will provide players with various mechanical attributes and flavoring options based on the Types they choose for their characters! Best of all, players can mix and match different Type combinations together to create hundreds of combinations for their characters! This ensures that players will have the option to create they want to make, rather than make a character they should make!

Using Stats to Flavor

Unlike other TTRPGs that rely heavily on equipment and gear to improve a character, CLOSEQUARTERS allows players to use their Stats to improve their character. But this isn't also used for mechanical effect, but players will have the option of using their Stats to imply the equipment and appearance of their character.

Characters who have a high Strength Stat can use it to flavor their character's appearance with large muscles, or they could use it to imply how sharp or powerful their weapon is. A high Defense Stat could be used to flavor the weight of a character, or it could be used to imply the amount of armor they are wearing.

Diversity Through Techniques

Similarly to abilities or spells in other games, Techniques provide an alternative to it's abilities and spell counterpart. From special attacks to passive buffs, Techniques will provide in game options for your characters to stand out! While you can get Techniques from your chosen Types, you can also obtain the Techniques from other units in the game. This will allow players opportunities to change up their playstyle drastically as they play the game!

Players will also be able to create their own one-of-a-kind Special Technique for their characters! Because the Special Technique is created by the Player, this will guarantee that your characters will always retain a sense of individuality!

- This was only just a handful of features that allow CLOSEQUARTERS to stand out from other TTRPGs! We wanted to make a game that didn't feeling boring to play, and the features we mentioned should emphasis that! -

This edition of CLOSEQUARTES is only the Beta Version of the game, meaning it isn't complete. The rules and mechanics are in place, but there are still so many aspects of the project that still need to be tended to:

  • Extensive Playtesting and Feedback
  • Artwork and Assets
  • Fine Tuning and Editing

How can you help?

There are many ways you can help us in our endeavors to make this game a reality:

Playtesting and Feedback

Because of the scope of the game, playtesting is extremely hard to do with just one or a few people- we need all the hands we can get! From testing mechanics to asking for clarification or errors spotted in the book: all of it needs to get done. We want to make a game worth your while, so that will be our number one focus after this game is released!

Spreading the Word

Due to this project popping up from practically nowhere, it will be difficult to spread the word about our project. While we will do what we can, we would really appreciate it if you share this game with others. Even just mentioning it to friends who might be interested in CLOSEQUARTERS would help us in the long run!

Unfortunately, these projects aren't cheap to make. As you could probably tell, CLOSEQUARTERS looks very basic and plain in its current state. With that in mind, we hope to run a crowdfunding campaign sometime in the future in order to get the funding to make the full potential of CLOSEQUARTERS a reality.

While I don't expect it, you can also choose to donate to help get things moving along faster. This will help push out content leading up to the crowdfunding campagin!

-There are many ways you can help CLOSEQUARTERS become a reality! A little bit goes a long way, and we appreciate your interest and support in the project!-

ENFORCER [$4.99]

ENFORCER [$4.99]: by @Stormforge_P

Enforcer is a miniature based narrative-wargame, or a war-roleplaying-game, in the style of the INQ28 games. It takes the best of wargaming and RPGs to create an experience of the early skirmish era miniature RPGs. Enforcer is as much about player skill as it is about character skill. Your characters and the dice will tell you if they succeed or fail at any given action, but it is about how your use your characters, about how you strategize and use your tactical skill that will determine if you win or lose any scenario.

Enforcer is a physical tabletop game meant for 28mm models. It uses a simple d100 system that keeps the game flowing and the action front and centre. The dice aren't the be-all and end-all of Enforcer, however, and your strategies in playing the game will determine your success or failure. Each character is a mixture of stats, traits, weapons, armours and items, giving you the flexibility to kit out your character and your team to meet the demands of the mission. Enforcer is a lethal game, so make sure they are kitted out well or they won't survive for very long. Those that survive will be better off for it, and by the end of a campaign you will have a hardy bunch of soldiers ready to take on anything.

Inside Enforcer you'll find:

  • How to create your own character
  • Full rules for playing, covering everything from turns, combat, status effects, and the environment
  • 9 Battle Scenarios meant for fun, guts and glory type games
  • 4 Campaign scenarios that can help shape your character's destiny
  • Sheets for characters, armoury and campaigns
  • Templates for weapons, character stand-ins and sample terrain

It is the end of the 23rd century and Earth is unrecognisable. Most of the oceans have boiled away, and greenery is a luxury. Instead there are only the mega-metropolis cities dotting an empty wasteland. 50 billion souls are packed onto Earth, and 10s of billions dot the colonies of the solar system, and they all answer to a single government and a single man.  The emperor of humanity brooks no nonsense, and rules with an iron fist. Life is tough for the average citizen in the empire, but they are far beneath your specific concerns.

You work for an Enforcer of the emperor. You were handpicked for your cunning, skill, pragmatism, brutality, or something else that caught the Enforcer's eye. You were uprooted from whatever life you live, and now you fight for the emperor. Enforcers are the hunters of the empire, and you are the Enforcer's hound. Traitors, rebels, witches, heretics, anyone who poses a threat to the empire is fair game. You have been told to do whatever it takes to keep the empire safe, and you will do exactly that. One day you will die for the emperor, but until then, you will hunt for him, kill for him, and keep his empire safe.

Enforcer is still in Early Access. This means that everything you need to play Enforcer is here, but it is not 100% finished. The main reason for the Early Access is to get funding for the art. Every dollar you spend on Enforcer is a dollar we give to an artist to make Enforcer look better. While the art is being worked on, we'll keep polishing up the rules and increasing the lore. Everyone who gets Enforcer in the Early Access stage will get the full digital release for free, and we will also give you the final printed version at cost price.

Date! That! Mothman! [Free]

Date! That! Mothman! [Free]: by @SprintingOwl

Date! That! Mothman! is technically a tabletop roleplaying game about contestants on a mothman-dating reality tv show.

You play by telling a story with friends, and occasionally by rolling some dice to determine what happens next. If you're familiar with that well-known game about lizards and basements, this is like that, but instead of either of those things you're dating a mothman.

Thistle and Hearth [$15.00]

Thistle and Hearth [$15.00]: by @rpgnatalie

Thistle and Hearth is a GMless, diceless tabletop roleplaying game of dark, fairy-tale inspired stories set in a wintry village. To play you will need: three to five players; versions of the playbooks you can edit or write on; and a small set of small objects to use as tokens.

You live in a village beset by violence; scarcity; powerful and inscrutable entities; and spirits from beyond death. Together you cling to the small space that you have carved into a home, and do your best to find solace with one another.

Thistle and Hearth is a Belonging Outside Belonging game, which, for our purposes, means that control of the setting elements is shared between players, and that player characters are defined by playbooks that embody archetypes within the game's setting.

Thistle and Hearth draws on imagery of true fae, stark winter, spirits of the dead, and the designers’ experiences growing up in Lutheran communities in Minnesota. It is wondrously illustrated by Mahar Mangahas (any pronouns).

Thistle and Hearth was designed by Aven McConnaughey (ey/em) and Natalie the Knife (she/her).

Please note: we are working on making the PDF versions of this game screen reader friendly, but they are not currently. We appreciate your patience.

When the Broadswords Sing [Free]

When the Broadswords Sing [Free]:

WHEN THE BROADSWORDS SING (WBS) is an OSR micro-RPG that draws on games like Knave and Barbarians of Lemuria to provide a sword-and-sorcery flavored take on the classic dungeon crawl experience.

The game is 6 pages long, fitting on three sheets of paper front-and-back.

  • 2-page rules document, laid out to be printed and folded as a tri-fold
  • 2 pages of random tables to use during character creation, to create unique characters each time you roll up a new PC (these have been taken from Ben Milton's excellent game Knave)
  • 2 pages of tables that can be referenced during play (equipment, wounds, etc)
Key features of the game:

  • Simple class-free character creation, allowing for fully-random generation or detailed player choices.
  • Background Careers feature heavily, and form the basis of WBS "skill" system.
  • A unified core mechanic, 1d20 + Attribute Rating + Applicable Career Bonuses vs Difficulty
  • Free-form NOUN + VERB magic system, with optional rules for using classic spell lists.
  • Clear conflict rules that support Physical, Social, and even Mental conflicts.
  • Simple rules for "Stunts", player driven feats of skill.
  • Slot-based encumbrance that integrates spells and equipment.
  • Wound rules that make hitting 0 HP painful, but not always automatic death
  • Built-in Dungeon Exploration rules
  • Gold-for-XP advancement
The game is mostly complete, but I will update it based on feedback and playtest reports that I receive.

The regular version is black background with yellow/white text, and the printer friendly is black text on white.

Thanks and enjoy!

KATABASIS Beta [0% Off] [$16.00]

KATABASIS Beta [0% Off] [$16.00]@Rathayibacter

The afterlife wasn’t built for us.

Welcome to KATABASIS, a surreal folkpunk pointcrawl about spirits wielding symbolic manifestations of their mistakes in life in an attempt to escape the clutches of death.

You died, and washed ashore in this strange place. You met spirits who told you to accept your fate, who urged you to make do with your new circumstances, but you refused. You need to return to life, and you'll do anything for a chance at it. So you wield your pain and bare your heart, and you set off into the darkness with a group of like-minded fools. You will struggle, you will fail, and you will die a hundred more deaths, but anything's better than lying down and fading away.

This is a beta version of KATABASIS, with enough material to build characters and make your first trek through the lands of death. As the game is updated, all three Circles of the afterlife will be filled in, with new monsters, equipment, Paths, Settlements, and NPCs journeying alongside you. Eventually, we'll even reach the ends of the afterlife, and discover what dark secrets lurk there. Buying now will help me continue adding all the strange and incredible things I have planned for this game, and will also get you all future versions as they're released. Moreover, you'll have the opportunity to shape the game as it's being made- if you have questions, comments, concerns, or anything else, please don't hesitate to get in touch!

Pulse & Pressure [Free]

Pulse & Pressure [Free]:

Pulse & Pressure is a genre agnostic, rules-light system for telling stories about characters that are in a high stakes situation where they are under constant pressure. Possible examples include daring heist stories (whether done in a fantastic, sci-fi or modern style) or horror stories where the characters are being constantly chased by an unspeakable evil. The system revolves around a Pressure Level which represents how close the situation is to destabilizing for our heroes.

The rules fit on one page (front and back) and are good for one-shots or a quick "session zero" game.  All you need are a GM, players, some paper and six-sided dice.

Round Table - A Tabletop RPG of Heroic Chivalry [Free]

Round Table - A Tabletop RPG of Heroic Chivalry [Free]:

This is a tabletop RPG about "daring knights and heroic ladies", focusing on a mixture of dramatic quests, court intrigue, and domain/family management.

It is formatted as a single-page, double-sided TRI-FOLD.

The game is inspired by Fate Accelerated, Gumshoe, and King Arthur Pendragon.

Characters are built from four different components.

  • Manners focus on "how" not "what" the character does. They provide both a static bonus to rolls and a Pool of points that is damaged in conflicts (and can be spent from to enhance rolls)
  • Drives, which represent Passions and inner Motivations. This has both a carrot and a stick element, to try and encourage the players to behave in "knightly" ways, without overtly limiting their options.
  • The Arts. These provide information and clues as long as the character has any points in the Art, without needing to roll. And the points can be spent to give a big boost to rolls or for minor narrative control.
  • Dynasty represents both wealth and the retainers and hangers-on that any character will have.
The basic system is a d6+mods vs difficulty. The base modifier comes from the Manner used, but points can be spent from the Pools of Manners, Arts, or Dynasty to get bonuses, and Drives provide bonuses/penalties depending on the situation.

Additional supplements will be released later on with additional GM advice, Adversaries, as well as rules for more detailed Manor Management. Anyone who downloads this product will automatically receive all those supplements as updates.

Publisher: Tibbius

Adventure in Ancient Egypt, using simple 2d6-roll-over rules consistent with Nate Treme's original Tunnel Goons. Use weapons and Heka to achieve your goonish goals.

Like heroes ... like thieves ... like goons ... you stride the Two Lands, river to tomb to city to desert.

Beneath the ever-traveling barge of the sun sprawls the Red Land, the harsh scrubland of weeds and succulents among red-orange stone weathered to sand. Nomadic herders wander there.

The Black Land is the fertile river valley that splits the Red Land from the rocky ochre hills down to the verdant saltmarsh by the purple sea. At the high parts of the Black Land, above the floodmark, cities of the living sprawl among lower-lying farmland that is renewed each year by the river floods.

In the parts of the Red Land near the living cities, the houses of the sleeping ones stand silent and ornate, filled with treasure and dreams. These faces of the Red and Black Lands make the Waking Land, where the living walk and gods and demons dream. The Sleeping Land comprises Duat and Ament, the back faces of the Red and Black, where those who dream and gods and demons walk.

These are the Two Lands.

Calypso: $5.00

Publisher: Katamoiran Studios

Calypso is a narrative solo ttrpg system, powered by the apocalypse, revised from the original Compendium and blended with new techniques developed over several years of play. It is designed to support an open-ended, strongly narrative (as in "writing with dice") style of solo gaming that aims to produce an experience that's as much fun in the moment of creation as it is to read later!

It doesn't try to model a traditional GM and player experience, instead letting you, and your own reservoirs of creativity, steer the show (and push your characters around) overtly, using dice, system prompts, and step-by-step scene guides to build and maintain momentum.

It is divided into four sections;

  • core, with the base system, complete with a simple motifs-based framework to guide your story, and ready to play with whatever premise inspires you
  • scenarios, containing seven (gently) evocative premise packages (aka, scenarios)
  • frameworks, with four robust narrative structures that insist you finish what you started
  • appendices, with alternative motif charts, a people and motivation generator, some random event tables, co-op and GM-led play instructions, and troupe play mini-framework and mini-scenario.
The original Calypso Compendium is a barebones mashup of Lady Blackbird-style character creation and Apocalypse World resolution (more WoDu/Dungeon World), with a heap of refinements for solo. In this edition, I've revised everything in light of years of soloing with it, included DNA from other systems I've found useful in solo, included more explanations and examples, made it clearer what this is, and what it is not (hopefully), and (attempted) spiffied up art and layout.

If you'd like to check out the original (also CC-licensed), it's up at katarpgs on github. Have fun!

This is a one page RPG where a group of cityfolk set out on a trek in the wilds. They are supposed to be accompanied by a world-renown explorer named Lars Berg, but when they arrive at the cabin in the middle of nowhere, Lars is not there to meet them. Now they have but one choice:

Survive or Perish!

The game mechanics are very simple and only requires a six-sided die. Most rolls are made by the players and there is a clear structure to follow for the GM.

It has been heavily inspired by Lasers & Feelings by John Harper.

Useless Passions [Free]: by @steinea

Useless Passions is a philosophy game inspired by Jean-Paul Sartre's work in Being and Nothingness. It employs minimalist, player-driven mechanics to mobilize Sartre's philosophical concerns, getting players to explore questions of freedom and personal responsibility through play.

Useless Passions owes everything to the games that preceded it. These include: Avery Alder and Benjamin Rosenbaum's Dream Askew / Dream Apart, Vincent and Meguey Baker's Apocalypse World, Emily Care Boss's Shooting the Moon, Jason Morningstar's The Skeletons, and Jesse Ross's Trophy Dark and Trophy Gold.

The text is in A5 zine format. Select booklet, two-sided to print.

Grimmley's Academy of Enchantment & Espionage [$2.00]: by @ThatOneGM

Grimmley's Academy of Enchantment & Espionage is a microRPG about breaking rules, mixing spells, and thwarting the sinister plots of the organization known as S.P.O.O.K.Y.!

This game is ideal for short, one-shot sessions. Players are led through a brief character creation, and then the game's mechanics are laid out. There are two small tables to inspire melodramatic villains and dangerous schemes, but the brief game text focuses primarily on how to play.

The Flexorcists [$5.00]

The Flexorcists [$5.00]: by @SprintingOwl

It started in the late year 200X. Ghosts, demons, and other occult forces grew resistant to conventional exorcisms. Minor possessions, the kind that would previously have been resolved with a sprinkle of holy water and a few minutes of half-hearted praying, suddenly became multiple-hour-long, life-or-death ordeals.

Major possessions swallowed entire townships and broke holy men.

Worse, the unspoken rule that a possessing force had to operate only through the local environment became snapped and frayed.

Possessors could now manifest physically, and they were extremely swole.

Thus, the world entered a new age of banishments. Gone were the days when any reedy man could cast out a demon.

Fighting the supernatural was now a job for…

The Flexorcists.

The Flexorcists is a tabletop rpg about pro-wrestlers working a side-gig where they banish ghosts, stake draculas, and powerbomb creatures from lagoons.

It's best for one-shots, but supports limited campaign play, and its primary mechanics use d10s and rock-paper-scissors.

Emo Vampires [Free]

Emo Vampires [Free]: by @sage_gc

Emo Vampires is a quick, collaborative storytelling and role playing game for 3 or more people. It is envisioned to be played ironically in the world of The Twilight Saga, but can be adapted to any modern, Paranormal Romance setting involving mythical creatures and Gothic influence.

All the rules fit on a single page.

You'll need:

  • 2d6 (two six-sided dice)
  • 1 Game Master who narrates and guides the story
  • 2 or more Players
Players can play as a Human or a Vampire at the start of the story, but there must be at least one of each. Through improvisation, everyone will bring to light dramatic interpersonal relationships, overlapping love triangles, and bitter family rivalries, but with one overarching challenge: Do not get caught. It is the job of the GM to bring forth challenges that make the secret more and more difficult to keep. If any Human Character discovers the identity of any Vampire through role play, the Vampire(s) must turn them willingly or kill them secretly. If either fails, the Vampire Government is called, everyone is executed, and the game ends.

But before you play!

Please discuss boundaries with your group. Because this game and genre revolves heavily around sexuality, it is extremely important to make sure everyone feels safe and that certain scenarios are avoided. The GM is ultimately responsible for reading the room and making sure all Players are having fun. There should never, ever be a non-consenting encounter of any kind in your game.

You can hear the game in action here:

The download comes with an interactive PDF in two versions; Dark for digital use, and Light for print.

Enjoy, bloodsuckers.

UMBRA: A Solo Game of Final Frontiers [$7.00]

UMBRA: A Solo Game of Final Frontiers [$7.00]: by @BlackwellWriter

UMBRA: A Solo Game of Final Frontiers is a map drawing game that puts you in control of a sci-fi colony as you struggle against starvation, the void, and the many threats that will assail you from above and below. This 48 page zine has everything you need to generate natural formations, alien ruins, enemies, technologies, and forgotten terrors. It has a simple turn-based combat system, rules for building your colony and optional challenges for a harder experience.

Inspired by games like Rimworld and Dwarf Fortress, UMBRA aims to capture the feeling of building and protecting a colony on an unforgiving alien planet.

All you to play is, a pencil, paper (preferably 1" grid), and a deck of playing cards.

The Galactic War rages on as an overwhelming alien force picks its way planet by planet to our core systems. Our only hope rests on the legend of a super weapon called The Reaper's Gambit. Find that weapon, win the war, no matter the cost.

Each round your workers will mine a square of the grid, you draw a card from your deck of playing cards and see what they found. Hearts ♥ and Diamonds ♦ are resources and funding that you'll use for building and hiring units while Clubs ♣ and Spades ♠ are natural formations and alien ruins. From alien probes and deactivated warmachines to toxic waste and boiling rivers, these strange discoveries will become part of your colony's layout and may provide unexpected benefits. Or you may just unleash an alien supersoldier, in which case you'll have to fight.

Combat in UMBRA is designed to allow for forward planning and strategic thinking without weighing you down with book-keeping. Enemies follow a tower-defense style path towards your hold's entrance while you move your units in simple turn-based tactical combat. Utilise security systems, ranged attacks, and special units to face deadly foes or record your colony's epic demise.

UMBRA will also be supported with ongoing updates and expansions which bring new features such as space stations (coming soon), alien civilisations, madness, and more.
Or you can check out RISE (a dungeon building variant which tasks you with keeping your mutinious minions happy) or DELVE (the dwarf hold building game which kicked off the series).
